At last, the classic videogames tournament could take place after some years of unsuccessful attempts of carrying it out, couldn't be realized because of different reasons.

The great attendance and the good choice of the games did a very attractive, entertaining and, above all, competitive tournament.

At the very same day as the Beijing 2008 olympic games are being opened, the results of the Retrolympics competition organized by RetroEuskal inside the Euskal Encounter are published.

We repeat our greetings to all the contestants because of their sportmanship and olympic spirit. We hope to meet again next year.

Space Invaders was designed and developed by Toshihiro Nishikado for Taito in 1978. In order to commemoratte the 30th anniversary of this game, a recognized classic of the game history, RetroEuskal 2008 invites you to join in a big play with every Euskal Encounter attendant. Everyone will fight to defeat the opposite side.

Will the terrestrial defences stop the invasion?, Will the space invaders destroy defence lines and take control of the planet? You have in your hands the key for one of the sides victory!
